OM66-28 Ludwig Leichhardt Letters, 1847-1848.

Two (photocopied) letters to David Archer of Durundur; one from Mr Bracker's station, 30 September 1847, requesting him to look after Mr Bunce until Leichhardt's forthcoming expedition; one from Mr (Henry Stuart) Russell's station 10 March 1848 mainly re the animals and members of the party accompanying him on his expedition.

F. W. L. Leichhardt, explorer, was born in Prussia. He emigrated to Sydney in 1842 and the following year embarked on the first of series of explorations into Northern New South Wales and Queensland.
